Marianne Maloney, M.Ed., Director
Our teachers are supportive and nurturing educators. Most of our faculty have a bachelor’s degree, some an advanced degree. All our teachers are certified through the Massachusetts Dept of Early Education and Care in addition to their individual degrees. Through our annual professional development plans, our teachers keep current with advances in early childhood education and best practices.
Philosophy: from the beginning, Weston Wing has dedicated itself to the social/emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of children. We believe that each child is an individual with a unique personality, learning style, and potential. Our responsibility is to provide stimulation, direction, and encouragement in a warm, secure, and nurturing environment. This will enable each child to develop a positive self-‐image essential for the development of skills and successful social interactions.
Marianne joined Weston Wing as the new Director in July, 2012. Marianne has a Bachelor's degree in Human Services from the University of Massachusetts, a Master's of Education from Wheelock and Cambridge College and is a certified Developmental Specialist through the Department of Public Health. Marianne is excited to continue Weston Wing's legacy of providing excellence in early education and care. Prior to joining Weston Wing Marianne was a center director for over 18 years in Concord, MA.
Nancy is our bookkeeper and Office Manager. She is a certified Pro Advisor for Quickbooks. Nancy has her bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts. She continued her studies at UMass Lowell with graduate courses in Financial Accounting, Grant Writing, Marketing, Web Design and Development.
Joy is our co-teacher in our Purple Class. Joy comes to us with a bachelor's degree in Education from Philippine Normal School. Joy is qualified as a Lead Teacher for young toddlers and is director qualified. We are thrilled to have Joy return to Weston Wing. Joy was on our staff previously in 2017/18.
Su is our co-teacher mornings in Purple Class. Su has an undergraduate degree in Child Studies and her Master's in Early Childhood Ed and Teaching English as a foreign language. Su has recently bee a toddler teacher at Family Access of Newton. We are excited to have Su join our re-opening of our young toddler programming. Su is qualified as a DEEC Lead Teacher.
Chris is Co-Teacher in Yellow Class. She holds a Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology from the University of Vermont. She worked for many years as an Early Intervention speech/language pathologist in Waltham. Prior to Weston Wing, she worked for twelve years as a preschool teacher at the Carousel School in Waltham. Chris is DEEC qualified as a Teacher.
Suzanne is a Co-Teacher in Yellow Class. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Regis College. Prior to raising her family, she taught 3rd grade at St. Jude School in Waltham. Most recently Suzanne taught preschool for 9.5 years at the Carousel School in Waltham. Suzanne is DEEC qualified as Teacher.
Melissa is a Co-Teacher in Yellow Class and teaches the afternoon program. She is a graduate of Weston Public Schools and has an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts. Melissa has previously worked for the Weston Windows preschool. Melissa is DEEC qualified as Teacher. melissa is continuing her studies in Early Childhood education through trainings and workshops.
Jan is Co-Teacher in our Green Class and the Associate Director of the school. Jan is DEEC qualified as Lead Teacher and Director, has a Bachelor’s degree in Latin and Greek, and certification in Latin and English for Secondary Ed. She is a certified Orton-Gillingham tutor for students with reading and language based learning difficulties. Jan was director of the Whittemore House Nursery School for 27 years. Jan is also the grandmother of two Weston Wing graduates.
Katrina joined Weston Wing in 2011 as a Co-teacher in our Green Class. Katrina has a B.A. in English, an associate degree in Liberal Arts and a Nursery Nursing certificate from England. Katrina has previous center experience as preschool and toddler teacher and as a children's literature representative for Usborne Books. Katrina is the Co-teacher in Green Class. Katrina is DEEC qualified as Lead Teacher and Director.
Wendy is Teacher in our Red Class. She has a Bachelor's degree from Colby College. Wendy has been with Weston Wing for nine years and has worked with all ages. She is qualified by the DEEC as Teacher, and has taught in the field for 28 years. Previously, Wendy taught at North Ave. Nursery School.
This year Jenn is Teacher in Blue Class for the mornings and will combine in the afternoon with Red Class. She is qualified as Lead Teacher from DEEC. Jenn has years of experience as a preschool/pre-kindergarten teacher and a strong background in planning curriculum for play based preschool and pre-k settings. Jenn previously worked at a Newton preschool program. Prior to her preschool experience, Jennifer has instructed children of all ages in special education programs, summer camps, and after school programs.
Ingrid is a graduate of Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Ingrid is qualified by the Dept. of Early Education and Care as Lead Teacher Preschool as well as Director. Prior to joining Weston Wing, Ingrid served as Lead Teacher and Director of Roxbury Weston Programs, Inc for 18 years as well as Lead Teacher at the Arlington Heights Nursery School. Ingrid will support in each PS/Pre-k classrooms as needed by schedules.
Suzanne is a co-teacher in both the morning and the afternoon programs. Suzanne comes to Weston Wing with over 28 years of experience teaching preschoolers and toddlers and is Lead Teacher qualified through DEEC. Suzanne has her Bachelor of Science from Leslie University with a concentration in Expressive Therapies. Sue supports the students and staff as a resource teacher and brings her vast experience to all our classrooms.
