CLOSING POLICY FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER
When a "snow day" is announced for the Weston Public Schools, Weston Wing will be closed for the day. When a "two hour delay opening" is announced for the Weston Public Schools, Weston Wing will open at 10 o'clock for the day.
Please listen to the radio station WHDH (850) or WBZ (1030) or watch channels four, five, or seven for no-school or delayed school announcements. If the center must close because of inclement weather during a school vacation week, you will be contacted by phone and it will be posted on our web page, WestonWing.com
CONTINGENCY PLAN FOR FIRE, NATURAL DISASTER, OR LOSS OF UTILITIES
In case of fire, natural disaster, or situations necessitating evacuation of Weston Wing, the following plan will be implemented. The Fire and Police Departments will be called. Both departments have a key to the United Methodist Church at 377 North Avenue and permission to allow us to enter in an emergency. All staff and children will walk to the church and staff will remain with the children as long as necessary. The Director or person in charge will take the first aid kit, emergency forms, and master list from the office. As soon as possible all parents will be notified by the director or staff.
In case of extended loss of utilities, Weston Wing will close. All parents will be notified by telephone. If the telephone service is interrupted, staff cell phones will be used.
In the event of a natural disaster when children cannot be evacuated from the Center, children will be brought to designated rooms to be supervised and safe until parents are called.
